From Wiregrass to UGA-Tifton
Build on career-focused preparation and continue toward a UGA degree
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences have a formal transfer agreement designed for Wiregrass graduates who want to continue into selected UGA-Tifton bachelor’s programs.

The process from your current campus to UGA-Tifton
STEP 1: Tell Wiregrass that UGA-Tifton is your destination
Meet with a Wiregrass One-Stop or program advisor and explain that you want to use the UGA-Tifton transfer agreement. Early planning matters because the agreement identifies specific associate-degree routes and degree-specific coursework.
- Identify UGA-Tifton as your intended transfer destination.
- Ask whether Occupational Studies or Interdisciplinary Studies best fits your plan.
- Contact UGA-Tifton before you are close to graduation.
STEP 2: Choose one of three UGA-Tifton pathway majors
The Wiregrass agreement provides a route into three UGA-Tifton B.S.A. programs.
STEP 3: Complete the appropriate associate degree and pathway coursework
The published agreement covers Wiregrass graduates with associate degrees in Occupational Studies or Interdisciplinary Studies. Use the UGA-Tifton degree-specific course map to choose transferable coursework that supports the intended major.
- Work with Wiregrass to select the appropriate associate-degree route.
- Use the UGA-Tifton Degree-Specific Transfer Pathways page for course equivalencies.

STEP 5: Have a transfer checkup before your final semester
Do not wait until you have finished your current program to discover that you are missing a prerequisite. When you are approaching the final year – ideally around 45 to 50 transferable hours – review your record with your current advisor and UGA-Tifton.
- Confirm your intended UGA-Tifton major.
- Review completed and planned coursework.
- Identify missing prerequisites.
- Confirm that you are on pace for 60+ transferable hours and the required GPA.
- Identify the UGA semester in which you plan to enroll.
