From SRTC to UGA-Tifton
Stay close. Go far.
Southern Regional Technical College and UGA-Tifton have a formal transfer agreement for students who want to move from a technical-college foundation into selected University of Georgia agricultural bachelor’s degrees.

The process from your current campus to UGA-Tifton
STEP 1: Tell SRTC that you want the UGA-Tifton pathway
Meet with your SRTC advisor before building your schedule. The published agreement specifies an Interdisciplinary Studies associate degree for the UGA-Tifton pathway.
- State clearly that your transfer destination is UGA-Tifton.
- Ask to plan within the Interdisciplinary Studies degree.
- Contact UGA-Tifton early so major-specific prerequisites can be included in the plan.
STEP 2: Choose one of the three UGA-Tifton pathway majors
The formal technical-college pathway is built for three UGA-Tifton B.S.A. programs.
STEP 3: Follow the degree-specific course map
Technical-college transfer works best when students follow the published course equivalencies rather than choosing courses only by title. Depending on the major, pathway coursework can include economics, statistics, mathematics, accounting, biology, chemistry, and education courses.
- Use the UGA-Tifton Degree-Specific Transfer Pathways page.
- Confirm the SRTC course and UGA equivalent before registering.
- Complete the Interdisciplinary Studies degree with at least a 3.0 GPA as specified by the SRTC agreement.
STEP 4: Reach the UGA-Tifton transfer threshold
Before you apply, make sure you meet the University of Georgia transfer consideration requirements for the Tifton campus.
- 60 or more completed hours of transferable credit by the application deadline.
- A 3.00 or higher calculated transfer GPA.
- High school graduation at least 12 months before the intended UGA enrollment term.
- At least one year of college completed by the start of the intended UGA enrollment term.
- Program-specific curriculum requirements and program coordinator authorization for Tifton.
STEP 5: Have a transfer checkup before your final semester
Do not wait until you have finished your current program to discover that you are missing a prerequisite. When you are approaching the final year – ideally around 45 to 50 transferable hours – review your record with your current advisor and UGA-Tifton.
- Confirm your intended UGA-Tifton major.
- Review completed and planned coursework.
- Identify missing prerequisites.
- Confirm that you are on pace for 60+ transferable hours and the required GPA.
- Identify the UGA semester in which you plan to enroll.
STEP 6: Apply to the University of Georgia Tifton campus
When you are eligible, complete the UGA transfer application for the Tifton campus. Submit all required materials by the current deadline.
- Complete the UGA transfer application and required statement or application components.
- Submit official transcripts from every college or university attended.
- Pay the application fee or use an approved fee waiver if eligible.
- Select the Tifton campus and the appropriate UGA-Tifton major.
- Use the UGA Admissions deadlines page for the current Tifton application deadline.
STEP 7: After admission, complete the transition to UGA-Tifton
Once admitted, UGA-Tifton will guide you through the final transition into your UGA degree program.
- Confirm your enrollment and complete required UGA next steps.
- Meet with your UGA-Tifton academic advisor.
- Attend required UGA-Tifton orientation before classes begin.
- Review how your transferred coursework applies to the degree.
- Register for your first UGA courses and begin the upper-division portion of your program.
Details to remember
- The published SRTC-to-UGA-Tifton agreement specifies the Interdisciplinary Studies associate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- The formal pathway serves Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, and Agriscience and Environmental Systems.
- Biological Science is offered at UGA-Tifton, but it is not listed as one of the three majors in the current SRTC technical-college pathway agreement.
- Following the published course map is especially important because not every technical-college course automatically transfers into a UGA degree.
